This course is designed as an introduction to regenerative development and tourism. In this course you will learn the difference between a regenerative approach and sustainability, and what is involved in implementing a regenerative journey in your organisation, community, business or place. This introductory course is delivered by experienced regenerative development practitioners Dr Dianne Dredge and Nadine Schmidt. We bring extensive experience working in regenerative development, community building, for-purpose business and ecosystem design, policy and education.
This course is designed for all those with an interest in regenerative place making, redesigning tourism, community leaders, business owners and operators, and policymakers. Let's prepare for the change ahead.

Course Outline
A 6-week online cohort course that introduces regenerative tourism to tourism professionals, destination managers, researchers, businesses, and other industry stakeholders. This introductory course that everyone needs to understand the shift and start the journey.

Your instructors
Dianne Dredge, PhD.
Complex, intuitive thinker with a love of place and people
Dianne Dredge is Founder of the Tourism CoLab. She is a complex system thinker, always thinking, sensing and feeling the implications of the shifts and changes taking place. With over 25 years experience in a hybrid space of teaching, research, environmental planning, tourism and community development, she loves to create learning environments that acknowledges the lived experience and diverse knowledge in the room. Dianne is elected member of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism and designed and implemented the Regen Lab on Flinders Island, Tasmania.
Nadine Schmidt Rojas
Nature-centred, practically minded
Nadine Schmidt Rojas is Community Manager at the Tourism Colab. She is also a lecturer, tutor and online facilitator in higher education in Australia and Europe in sustainable tourism, hospitality and regenerative tourism. and works as a Regenerative Tourism Specialist for a South Australian tour operator, Untamed Escapes.Nadine's past industry experiences include roles in Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Product Development and Event Management for both Inbound and Outbound Tour Operators.

Q. When does the course start and finish?
The course will open one week prior to the start date when you will receive an invitation to join the Colab's Communiversity custom course space for this course. Content will be released weekly ahead of the live sessions.
Q. How is the course run?
Our Community of Practice is the platform where you will find recordings of the live sessions in case you miss them. It is where you will connect with your community of learners, so make sure you introduce yourself.
Q. Are there any live webinars?
Yes. There are four live sessions, one per week for four weeks. The course can be completed asynchronously by viewing the live sessions in your own time and using the Community of practice to ask questions.
Q. How long do I have access to the course?
After enrolling, you have access to this course for 3 months. You can opt in the membership of the Communiversity for 12 months or upgrade your membership when you have completed the course.
